BIOS IT is proud to be Intel® Cluster Ready certified for next generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processor Family (codename Skylake) – the biggest data centre platform advancement in a decade.
The next generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable family of processors (codename Skylake), features Intel® Advanced Vector Extension 512 (Intel® AVX-512) which can deliver up to 2x flops per clock-cycle peak performance capability increase over AVX2 – especially important for HPC workloads. Another huge advancement included in the upgrade is the integration of Intel Omnipath Architecture (Intel® OPA), integrated Intel® QuickAssist Technology (Intel® QAT) and Intel® Resource Director Technology (Intel® RDT).
The Intel® Xeon® Scalable Family of processors now provide 28-cores per processor (increased from 22) with up to 2 threads per core, giving a total of 56 threads per processor and delivers 6 memory channels per processor (12 over the platform), with frequency up to 2666MHz, a huge increase of 50% from the previous generation. Intel® QuickPath interconnect becomes Ultra Path Interconnect (Intel® UPI), and boasts increases in both speed and efficiency. PCI-Express increases from 40 lanes to 48 lanes per processor. The platform will be scalable up to 8 sockets, allowing a huge number of CPUs to work in tandem in any given configuration.
