BIOS IT partner with 'Enabler' Supermicro
ne of the many reasons we partner with Supermicro is the ability to bring to market customized and affordable solutions, tailor made for any customer - from startups to enterprise.
The folks at theregsiter.co.uk recently pitted Supermicro against IBM & Lenovo and deduced that their ability to enable the likes of startups and thus making life difficult for the established players is what makes Supermicro ‘critical: today, tomorrow and for the foreseeable future’.
Faced with increased competition from every other tech giant out there, IBM’s IT Services (which have been a critical source of its revenue of late) are not doing enough to generate demand for IBM’s other technology offerings. Using Softlayer cloud as an example, when up against the likes of Amazon AWS or Microsoft’s Azure, it’s incomparable and may as well ‘not exist’. While IBM is granted more patents every year than any other company in the US - what they need now is to find someone willing to put them to good use.
Lenovo, described as the ‘megamall’ of the tech industry, concentrates its efforts on the mass market, selling desktops and notebooks, smartphones and servers while maintaining quality and affordability. Its recent acquisition of Motorola ensures its foothold in low-power devices for emerging markets. The question is, having shaped itself in IBM’s image of old, can Lenovo avoid the mistakes of IBM of late.
Supermicro – the David to Goliaths such as Microsoft, Cisco, IBM & Lenovo is the real threat in todays IT landscape. From servers, switches, storage etc. the thing that sets Supermicro apart from the rest is their ability to customize a solution to fit exactly your needs. If they don’t have it – they will make it and all at an affordable price.
